  • Nuclear Community Consultation Program

    The Nuclear Fuel Cycle Royal Commission was established so that Government and the community could be provided with a solid evidence base about the State’s further involvement in the nuclear fuel cycle.

    Following the release of the Royal Commission’s report on Monday, 9 May 2016, the Premier announced a state-wide consultation process encouraging all South Australians to carefully consider the evidence presented, understand the choices and provide their views.

  • Outback Communities Authority to oversee town management of Leigh Creek

    The State Government announced on Monday 6 June that it is continuing negotiations with Alinta Energy for the Outback Communities Authority (OCA) to take over operational management of Leigh Creek from 1 January 2017.

    The announcement follows the State Government’s decision to continue the provision of essential services beyond mid-2018 with support for Leigh Creek to remain ‘open for business’ into the future.

    Today the Outback Communities Authority (OCA) announced the opening of the First round of Project Grants for 2015-16. The OCA will also continue to encourage requests to fund a wide range of projects aimed at improving the quality of life for the outback region as a whole. The OCA, is encouraging outback communities to come up with interesting ideas that reflect their Community’s unique identity. There is still an opportunity for other projects that provide benefit to outback residents and their wider communities to be considered.
