Olary Progress Association Community Affairs Resourcing and Management Agreement Financial Year 2019-20

Olary is a small centre on both the Barrier Highway and the Indian Pacific railway line 390 km from Adelaide and 130 km west of Broken Hill. It was originally surveyed in 1886 at the time of the construction of the Peterborough to Cockburn railway line that was then connected to Broken Hill.

There is a historic, trading hotel, a store, a public hall and a contracting centre servicing a small resident population of eight people. It is basically a meeting and supply centre for the wool-growing stations either side of the ‘Broken Hill line’
